President's Message
As we near the end of another year, I wish everyone a happy holiday season.鈥�
Dates to remember for 2025. Our spring meeting is on April 12 and our fall meeting is on Oct 18. Both are tentatively scheduled for Pima Medical Institute at 8800 Cutler Ave NE Albuquerque. February 10-14, we take time to honor the vital contributions of our phlebotomists. July 20-25 American Medical Technologists will hold our annual Business meeting in Pittsburgh. This is a time to make new friends and reconnect with some old ones. Changes are coming so watch your email for updates from AMT.
In October, we held our fall meeting. Although the weather was uncooperative, we still managed to earn 3 CEU hours. We also reviewed our state Bylaws. These were approved and sent forward to the Judiciary Counsellor who approved them.
Our National Meeting in 2024 took place in Saint Louis. During the business meeting, we elected new officers to the National Board of Directors: Harry Narine, Francine Oran, and Dustin Martinez. The Board then selected Harry Narine as President, Michael Waide as Vice-President, Cherry Ann DaCosta-Carter as Secretary, and Francine Oran as Treasurer. Additionally, we welcomed Steve Stockford as the new Judiciary Councillor, replacing Kim Cheuvront, who has retired. We wish Kim all the best in her future endeavors.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Pima Medical Institute and Instructor Lisa Gabaldon for their invaluable assistance in organizing our meetings. It is thanks to Lisa鈥檚 efforts that we have a location to host our gatherings. She also played a key role in creating our state鈥檚 Facebook page, '91短视频正版NM State Society.'
