Thank you, Ivette Rivera,
I had the privilege of working closely with Ivette Rivera for nine of my twelve years as President, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have witnessed her remarkable leadership firsthand. Ivette has consistently shown qualities that I deeply respect unwavering integrity, dedication to AMT, and a steadfast commitment to addressing our collective concerns. Her compassionate leadership and grace in navigating challenges have left an indelible mark on me and many others. This isn’t goodbye to Ivette as our District Councillor, but rather a heartfelt sendoff filled with positive energy as she continues her impactful work with AMT.

Thank you to Kaye Tschop, Executive Councillor, for joining us at our educational meeting this year. With her distinguished service and steadfast commitment, Kaye has been an influential leader in the American Medical Technologists (AMT) community. It was truly an honor to have her presence and valuable insights she contributed to our board meeting.
Thank you, Dr. Victoria Ruiz, Chief of Biothreat Response, from NYC Dept. of Health & Mental Hygiene, Public Health Lab. for sharing her expertise and insights with us during her talk, "The 4pm Call: Introduction to the Biothreat Response Laboratory." Dr. Ruiz detailed overview of the Biothreat Response Laboratory's role in public health, combined with her explanations of biothreat agents and the critical steps involved in their detection, was both enlightening and inspiring. We appreciate her dedication to advancing public health and safety, and we are grateful for the invaluable work she does keeping our communities safe.
Thank you to Cherry- Ann Da Costa-Carter, Chief of Mycobacteriology and City Research Scientist, from the NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, Public Health Lab. Cherry Ann’s insightful presentation, "Things that Go Buzz in the Night: Mosquito-Borne Diseases," shed light on the major mosquito-borne diseases of public health significance. She expertly guided us through the complexities of host-vector relationships and the ways they contribute to disease transmission, while also exploring current methods of treatment and control.
